BLACK THURSDAY in FUNAAB

18/8/2016 A Thursday To Remember In The Land Of Alabata!

It all started in the wee hours of the morning when ADEJOKE hostel at gate was robbed with lots of valuables of the hostel resident carted away by the robbers, this is not the first time this is happening this semester as the robbers who are seven in number, move about with guns and axes with which they injure students, rendering some students almost lifeless and going away with valuables like phones, laptops, etc. The affected students planned to throw up a protest today which they did kick start at gate, blocking access to the school, the sug was also part of the protest
as members of the police force were present too. Lots of people not just students were affected by the blockade as activities majorly along the alabata road were shut down, the students moved to camp to continue the protest and this was where everything got heated, while all this was happening a thief(not a funaabite)

was caught this morning at oluwo after stealing someone's phone during the protest this morning,he was caught while trying to escape with the phone(a Tecno M3), he was beaten brutally by already angry students and passersby protesting. Police officers came around and decided to use tear gas to disperse every one but when it seemed it wasn't working they shot in the air sporadically and a young 100level student(name abisoye taiwo)  was hit by one of the bullet,
sources claim he is still receiving treatment at FMC. The students who were piqued at all that went down this morning, decided to show their annoyance by burning the bus of the divine heights gospel church kotopo and destroying the glass windows and windows of cars in the church premise, the church which belongs to the VC professor oyewole who alongside mr ilesanmi were on Wednesday invited to the zonal office of the EFCC in Ibadan on allegations of corruptions, various cars were destroyed and burnt in camp also the osiele police station was reportedly burnt down.

Therefore on behalf of the VC,all students were advised to vacate the halls of residence on an emergency 7 days mid semester break starting today 18th of August, hostelites were given till 6pm to go home but members of the police force were seen going around arresting innocent students.
