BREAKING NEWS:EMBARGO ON ELECTRIC COOKER'S

Greatest FUNAABites!
Greatest Hall residents!

The University Management and the Students Affairs Division of the school have "prohibited the use of electric cooker/electric stove and other unserviceable electrical appliances in the hostels".

In the memo pasted on the notice boards of all halls of residence, it was stated that using of these appliances "has not only increased energy cost of running the University but also overworked the generators powering the hostel".

So, does that mean that the only way by which we have to prepare our meals is by using kerosene stoves?
An average stove costs about N1700
A litre of kerosene goes for N120
A student uses an average of a litre in a week and will have to do that for the next 14 weeks?
How are we expected to survive?
An average hotplate costs N1700 and now it's being banned?

Greatest FUNAABites!
We are very concerned about this issue. We are trying our best to ensure that the use of hotplates are not banned.

CONCLUSION:
1.Even if appliances would be banned, not electric cookers or electric stoves.
2. All plugs of electric stoves/cookers will be changed to the specifications of the Hall.
3. No cooking in the room would be tolerated.

We await a positive response from the management by next week.

Thanks.

Hall Chairperson,
IYAT.
