Joke Silva and olu Jacobs have recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. The couple are thankful to God and loved ones as they pray their love in all its ramifications continue to wax stronger and may only death come between them.
We quite aware of how marriage relationships has been of recent especially celebrity marriages, there have been a lot of divorces,separations and a lot of single mother. Given the fact that this couple are both celebrities and are popularly tagged Nollywood's most celebrated couple, I know we would be wondering if this couple don't engage in quarrels or if they are just lucky to be perfect for each other, Don't they feel jealous or intimidated given the fact they are regarded as the most professional&most experienced in the movie industry today?.let's read on how the journey has been so far...
HOW WE MET: They met at the National Theatre 27years ago. He said in an interview that he just sighted a beautiful young lady walk through the door ,he had never met her before and because Mr olu Jacobs knew what he wanted,he said to the people in the room"this is the lady I want to marry". I am certain she must have hissed and looked at him in a churlish manner that very day but at the long run,she couldn't resist any more.
THANKFUL TO GOD: They are most grateful to God for what he has done so far and what he would still do in their lives and home.
COMMUNICATION AND MUTUAL RESPECT: These are important forces that would help build a better and stronger relationship. The couple said communicating helps a lot,once we are talking,you have an idea of where I am and I have an idea of where you are. He said "if my wife goes out and she finds out she won't be able to make it back home the time she notified me,she picks up the phone and call to inform me. They made it known that relationship is thinking for two,No decision you take should be for yourself alone.
RESOLVING QUARRELS: Just like evey other relationships,they also quarrel. The couple said since they both have a mind and different thoughts pass through it,why won't we argue?. You learn not to pick on anything your partner says,it interferes with the relationship. The couple made it known that, 'we must quarrel',resolving the quarrels is the task. You must finish one fight before another and you cannot jump because if you jump it will pull you back.
Mr olu Jacobs said she sometimes insists on things even when it has been resolved,she still brings it back but he loves her because she thinks more of others,shey is always happy,she Cares a lot,we are all boys in the house so she mothers all of us. That's the way we handle it So whatever we need to do,we discuss it.
Hmm,I have learnt a lot. We thank God for relationships like these,that could help and guide the youth and every other marriages. I bless God for their marriage and I pray to God that he will continue to be with them and help them through the circumstances of life.
