We definitely aren't secondary school students anymore, so I don't see any reason we should be treated as one. Why should a lecturer chase students out of a lecture halls because of 'textbooks'?. Textbooks they made and want to sell every last copy through hook or crook means.
Today in_FUNAAB, yesterday, lastweek, and lots of semesters dating back to when the General studies department started to publish their own books, this act has continued up until now, maybe the school authorities don't know about it, or they party to it, I can't tell. But this shouldn't be.
Mrs. Sotiloye sent out the whole class today because of a textbook worth #1,500 Naira.
Only about 15 student's were allowed into the class
Students claim that the textbook is the same as the previous textbook and with the inclusion of an extra page and a brand new back cover, it's price has escalated. Some students made jokes of the influence of the dollar on the price of this textbook.
The question posed here is :
Should this act continue?
Where and when would the Student union government come in?
Should textbooks be made compulsory in universities?
Has news of this not gotten to the VC, DSA, maybe once?
Because talking to 'staylites', they bear witness to this occurrence happening during their time, so this event is not just happening for the first time.
FUNAABITES, WHAT IS THE WAY OUT!!!!!!!

and talking to students who were victims of this circumstance, they let in_FUNAAB know that they didn't get the textbook not because they couldn't afford it, but because the GNS department is enforcing the purchase of the textbook.
The same textbook was sold for year one students for only just #500 Naira, and during the last conducted examination, not even a single question or anything pertaining to the textbook in question here was used.Students claim that the textbook is the same as the previous textbook and with the inclusion of an extra page and a brand new back cover, it's price has escalated. Some students made jokes of the influence of the dollar on the price of this textbook.
